Fighting Cancer with YouTube.
Name: Corbin
Interests: YouTube watching, video game playing, bike riding, hanging with friends
Diagnosis: Neuroblastoma
Cap Hero: Corey Kinchin
Corbin’s battle with neuroblastoma began in the 5th grade. Although he was symptom free, his pediatrician felt a mass in his abdomen during his annual well-check. After various scans and tests, 100% of the tumor was removed and the doctors felt no further treatment was necessary. Corbin was cancer-free for months when, out of the blue, a follow-up scan showed the cancer was back. Due to cancer treatment, Corbin missed the last month of 5th grade and didn’t get to start 6th grade with his friends.
To keep their spirits up, Corbin and his family enjoy watching YouTube star Corey Kinchin. They especially love his cooking videos. Like Corey, Corbin himself has been described as a witty jokester. When Corbin agreed to sign Corbin’s cap, he was thrilled.
“We are ready for the biggest fight of our lives and armed for battle Corbin’s mother said. “Corbin is my hero. No kids should have to go through this. Never. Ever.”
“It feels like Corey sent something just for Corbin to cheer him up and cheer him on.” – Corbin’s mom
