“Be afraid, cancer. Be very afraid.”

Name: Ian

Interests: Playing with Lego’s and his X-Box and spending time with family

Diagnosis: Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Cap Hero: The Undertaker

Right before Valentine’s Day in 2015, Ian learned he had Pre B-Cell A.L.L., a disease that starts in the bone marrow where new blood cells grow. The leukemia cells grow very fast and crowd the bone marrow, so the bone marrow has trouble making enough normal cells.

While the chances of beating this disease are very good, the fight isn’t easy. For Ian, knowing that his favorite WWE star took the time to make him feel special by signing his cap is “awesome.”

Ever since Ian was a little boy, he has watched the WWE with his uncle and has always admired The Undertaker, a mortician character who is immune to pain. This champion wrestler is 6’10” tall, weighs 300 pounds and has had lots of colorful quotes attributed to him like, “Be afraid. Be very afraid.”

Did you hear that, cancer?

“Cancer is tough but Ian is tougher.”
