Former Twin Wins with Jeremy.
Name: Jeremy
Interests: Sports including soccer, Legos and Video Games
Diagnosis: Leukemia (ALL)
Cap Hero: Joe Mauer
Former Minnesota Twins’ catcher, designated hitter and first baseman Joe Mauer once said, “As you get older, you learn that some things are out of your control.”
Jeremy, who chose Joe to be his Cap Hero, didn’t have to get older to learn that lesson.
In 2015, this funny, fun-loving kid was diagnosed with ALL. Fortunately, he didn’t have to face his treatments alone. He had a cap signed by Joe with him, covering his sweet bald head. That meant the world to Jeremy and his family.
Jeremy, who was born in Minnesota, is an athlete himself and a huge Twins fan, and that’s why he chose Joe Mauer as his Cap Hero. Mauer is the only catcher in MLB history to win three batting titles and is the only catcher to ever win a batting title in the American League.
Jeremy’s room is red and blue and decorated with Minnesota Twins’ stuff. According to his mother, “When it’s not on Jeremy’s head, the cap looks great in there.”
“Thank you for putting a smile on Jeremy’s face!”
