What do you get a kid who loves, lives and breathes Star Wars? A cap signed by George Lucas, of course! When Joey received the cap, he’d already been cancer free for 15 months. Still, he hung it on his wall like an award and talks about it to everyone.
Burkitt’s Lymphomas is a rapidly growing cancer, but Joey is proving that it can be beaten. After three months of chemo and lumbar procedures, we’re happy to report he’s in remission. Joey went from 64 pounds down to 45 during treatment. but he’s back up to 65 and is healthy again. These days, Joey only gets scans, pokes and checks about every three months.
Joey took Jedi classes over the summer and has all the moves! Don’t you just love a happy ending?
