Anthony Rizzo Hits Another One Out of the Park
Name: Joseph
Interests: Baseball, music, hanging out with his friends
Diagnosis: Hodgkin’s lymphoma
Cap Hero: Anthony Rizzo
Joseph loves baseball but that’s not the only reason he chose Cubs’ first basemen Anthony Rizzo to sign his cap.
Like Joseph, Anthony was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma when he was a teenager, just at the start of his career. After Anthony’s cancer went into remission, he started the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation to help families of other young people going through cancer treatment.
Joseph has a lot of family in Illinois and was able to attend his first Cubs game last summer. He had a great time watching his hero play and can’t wait to get back to Wrigley Field. Until then, he plans on following his hero’s advice: “Stay strong and have faith.”
Thank you, Anthony, for putting a smile on the face of a very special fan.
“It was really nice of Anthony Rizzo to take the time to sign the baseball cap for Joseph. He fought Hodgkin’s lymphoma like Joseph and understands what he’s going through.” – Joseph’s mom
